Drayton’s 2010 Rod & Reel Rally catfishing tournament was held Riverfest weekend, July 17.
A beautifully warm and breezy summer day greeted anglers as they arrived at Hastings Landing Recreation Area. Check-ins, boat inspections, and launchings went exceptionally smoothly this year due our attentive, experienced staff working the tournament table. The weather stayed gorgeous all through the afternoon as spectators and participants shared a day of good fishing and socializing on the banks of the mighty Red.
The first fish was brought to the weigh-in station an hour or so into the tournament and a steady flow of activity followed as entrants brought their catches to shore during the afternoon. A total of 52 fish were weighed in by the 128 participating anglers.
