Drayton Volunteer Ambulance Service

Drayton Volunteer Ambulance Service serves the Drayton area with an 19-member responding crew comprised of 3 EMT-Intermediates, 4 EMT-Basics, 9 First Responders, and 3 CPR-certified Drivers, plus our Treasurer who does all the billing and paperwork.  We are always in need of additional volunteers to maintain our excellent level of preparedness and to ensure an adequate number of responders continues to be available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  For more information about joining our crew, please contact us at PO Box 238, Drayton, ND 58225-0238.

Tremendous financial support from our community enables Drayton Ambulance to maintain two exceptionally well-equipped ambulances and to pay for all education, re-certification, and safety gear for our personnel.  Our comprehensive array of equipment includes a Lifepak 12 defibrillator/monitor with pacing and cardioversion capabilities, Lifepak 300 AED/monitor, CPAP oxygen delivery system, Tech-Lift pneumatic self-lifting stretcher, Ferno POWERFlexx electric stretcher, a Global Positioning system (GPS) in our primary rig, dual automatic blood pressure monitors, dual Stryker stair chairs with stair treads, dual blood glucose monitors, dual sets of advanced airway equipment and vacuum splints, dual cellular telephones with boosters, dual laptop computers, and voice pagers and portable radios for all responders.

Our newest ambulance is a top-of-the-line Braun purchased in 2006 and our backup ambulance (also a Braun) is a 1997 model.  DVAS averages approximately 100 calls annually in a coverage area that spans Pembina and Walsh counties in North Dakota, and Kittson and Marshall counties in Minnesota.

Drayton Ambulance members maintain an active, visible role in their community, offering periodic CPR classes and CPR re-certification for the public and our firefighters and lifeguards, among others.  We provide standby medical coverage at all fire scenes, football games, the Pembina County Fair, the Pembina Red River Roughrider Rodeo, and Pembina motocross races.

Public membership in Drayton Volunteer Ambulance Association is available for an annual membership fee of $15.00.  For information on membership, memorials, and donations, contact us at:
