American Legion Post # 159

Chartered in 1919, Post #159 of the American Legion is an organization made up of current or former military personnel who served at least one day of active service during the following time periods:

  • World War II: December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946
  • Korean War: June 25, 1950 to January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam War: February 28, 1961 to May 7, 1975
  • Lebanon and Grenada: August 24, 1982 to July 31, 1984
  • Panama: December 20, 1989 to January 31, 1990
  • Persian Gulf War and Global War on Terrorism: August 2, 1990 to present

The Post supports the Drayton Legion Baseball Team, Boy’s State, International Music Camp, and Youth Programs. They also provide an honor guard for deceased members and other veterans.


The Post has a county and post service officer to assist all veterans with any problems, including working with the V.A. Clinic. 

The Post holds monthly meetings the second Tuesday each month from October to April. Membership is just $20 per year.
